The camera records a 14-bit deep image in the 8.0 to 14.0 micron band. Assuming a black-body spectrum and a particular emissivity, a temperature for each point may be calculated. This temperature is then mapped to an 8-bit deep JPEG image in either greyscale or false-colour palette.
Note: In many of the images, the camera was not properly initialized and/or a reference level was not set. So the numeric temperature values are incorrect, especially of cold objects.
